What WHRF discloses
WHRF publishes the name and nature of material institutional grants, commissioned research support and programme sponsorship when disclosure is lawful and does not create a disproportionate safety risk. A funded output also identifies any relevant restriction, the funder’s role and whether it had access to drafts.
Editorial independence
A funder, partner or contributor may not dictate findings, suppress supported evidence, select a predetermined conclusion or receive favourable coverage in exchange for support. WHRF retains control over method, authorship, review, publication and correction. If those conditions cannot be maintained, the support should not be accepted.
Restricted and anonymous support
Restrictions must be compatible with the public purpose and recorded before acceptance. Anonymous support requires enhanced due diligence and may be declined when the source cannot be responsibly assessed. Public disclosure may be limited only for a documented legal, privacy or safety reason—not to conceal a material conflict.
Conflicts of interest
Authors, reviewers and decision-makers disclose financial, professional or personal interests that could reasonably be perceived to affect the work. The response may be disclosure, additional independent review, reassignment or recusal.
Accountability
Questions about funding and independence may be sent to partner@whrf.org. Factual concerns are handled under the feedback and corrections process.
